Karen began her musical studies with the goal of becoming a concert pianist. In college, her interests switched to the pursuit of singing, dancing and acting where she performed lead rolls in several shows at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center - Sound of Music (Maria), Chicago (Roxy), and A Chorus Line (Cassie) as well as putting in the required time at Disney World (Kids of the Kingdom), and Busch Gardens (Kaleidoscope).

At age 21, Karen moved to New York and began developing her career as a singer/songwriter while supporting herself singing on recording sessions and with bands for corporate and private parties. One of her songs called “Conversations” finished 5th in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest out of 10,000 entries.

Karen has toured with Billy Joel and Elton John on their Face to Face Tour, Enrique Iglesias as singer and vocal musical director, and has also performed as a backing vocalist on various live shows and TV specials with: Garth Brooks, Celine Dion, Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Jessica Simpson, Marc Anthony, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Feinstein, Billy Gillman, and Donny Osmond. Currently working on a CD and PBS special for the “Metal Messiah”, written and produced by Jason Howland, (“Jekyll and Hyde”, “Taboo”, “Little Women”), Karen can also be heard on the latest Wrigley’s Doublemint Gum commercials both singing and speaking the voice-over.
